Dr. Jart+ Clay Face Mask Review (3/11/2019)

Hey beauties! So a little while ago I purchased a set of three clay masks from Dr. Jart+ and I had yet to try it. I have been honestly so busy that even my skincare regimen has taken a backseat in my life. I finally decided after some time to get my skincare routine back on track and I got around to trying out this face mask. I’ve been meaning to review this for a while but now that I have tested out this product I am happy to share my results with you all.

So I used the white moisturizing clay mask in the pack the first time I tested it. The product needs to be evenly spread on clean skin. The texture of the mask is almost like Cool Whip. The texture is this way because this mask turns into a foaming cleanser. After applying the mask and keeping it on for three minutes I rinsed with warm water and worked it into a lather. The white clay mask definitely moisturized my skin.

I also used the pink one and this one was kind of harsh for my slightly sensitive skin. I’m not sure if this happened because I left it on two minutes longer than the recommended 3 minutes or because it was a strong product. My skin was sensitive to the touch after one use. The clay itself was also hard to wash off for this one. The pink mask was for brightening which I could tell my skin was not as dull.

Since I knew the pink had effected my skin I decided against using the green one. The green one was for oil control. I also decided against using it because I already have dry skin so I didn’t think it would help my skin type. I ended up asking Ryan to test it out because he has oily combination skin. Ryan said that he actually liked the green clay mask for his skin because it felt like it sucked up the excess oil in his pores.

These products were pretty good and I am mostly happy with the white clay mask for myself and the green clay mask for Ryan. The pink one was one I wasn’t really a fan of. Bath Routine: At Home Pamper (3/1/2019)

Everyone has a sort of ritual for their bath. It’s something you do each time you get ready to take a bath to make it more enjoyable. I wanted to share some of these rituals with sharing my bath routine.

– I wash my face clean of any makeup or grimy skin from the day. I use makeup remover, micellar water, and a daily cleanser.

– I put my hair up in a clip or hair tie to prevent it from getting wet

– I then apply a face mask– usually I do a sheet mask because it’s easier to remove in a bath.

– I fill the tub and add bath salts to the water. I do this for the aroma and sometimes I use a therapeutic bath soap for my skin or muscles.

– I then add bubble bath to the bath water because I just can’t take a bath without it.

– I’ll add either a bath bomb or some essential oils to the water.

– I take a candle or incense and light it or I use an essential oil diffuser

– Then I pour myself some wine or champagne or I’ll have a water bottle in the bathroom just in case I need a drink.

– If I’m feeling like I need to relax and not think I will either play music or set up something to do on my phone (like write a blog post or make a new Pinterest board). If I don’t mind thinking then I’ll sit in silence with no distractions.

– Lastly, I’ll take a bath!

I hope you enjoyed this post. I will eventually be doing an after bath post as well. Remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content. Make sure you comment down below if we share any of the same rituals.

Influenster VoxBox Unboxing: Sunday Riley (10/21/2018)

Hey beauties! I’m super excited to share with you guys that I got another VoxBox from Influenster. For the next few paragraphs I will explain what Influenster is and how to get a completely free VoxBox. If you already know what Influenster is, feel free to skip through these next few explanations.

So what is Influenster? Influenster is a website and app that allows people to share their opinions on products and get free things in exchange for those reviews. Influenster is completely free to join and you don’t even have to pay for the item or even shipping when you get products sent to your door. This does come with a twist though– any product they send you, you have to follow Influenster’s guidelines on how to review the products. You have full ability to not like or like the products but if you want to continue getting free products you have to make sure you follow the steps Influenster instructs you to take when reviewing the product. This could be to reviewing it on the company’s website, or just sharing a photo of the product.

To make that last explanation a little more clear I’m going to discuss what a VoxBox is, how you get them and what you need to do after you get it. So, a VoxBox is a box you get sent with free product(s) inside and yes sometimes there is multiple items in a box. It costs you nothing to get but you need to do something in order to be in the drawing for one.

You have to review products and earn expert badges. There are tons of different categories you can be an expert in, and this will direct what kinds of boxes you will be getting. So for example, I got an expert badge in Beauty by reviewing a ton of beauty products on the Influenster app and I get mostly beauty related VoxBoxes. There are also themed badges that come around during holidays that you can get as well. For example, I received a badge for Halloween just by clicking on the badge and completing the assignment of reviewing my favorite candy on the Influenster app. The more badges you get whether expert or themed badges, the higher your chances are in getting a VoxBox.

Another way you can up your chances of getting a VoxBox is by connecting all of your social media accounts. This will go towards your impact score. Your impact score is a complied number of followers, subscribers, and friends across all of your social media accounts. The higher your impact score (i.e. the more followers, subscribers and friends you have) the more likely it is that you’ll get a VoxBox. You now can also follow other friends and people on the Influenster app.

Something else that will help your chances of getting a VoxBox you’d like is to do Snaps. Snaps are reviews of products that Influenster thinks you would enjoy more or know more about. You can also make video reviews, as well as lists on Influenster of your favorite products, best products for winter etc. and you can answer/ask questions and this will give you points toward your discussion posts.

Important things that are MANDATORY to get a VoxBox is to look out for emails that say you have a chance of getting a VoxBox and VoxBox surveys. These will come through the email you use for your account so make sure that you choose an email that isn’t too cluttered so these emails don’t get lost. Also, after you get the VoxBox you will get an email survey about the VoxBox you just reviewed. If you want more VoxBoxes that review is mandatory and there is a deadline for when you can complete the review which is usually a couple of days.

What do you do once you get a VoxBox? Well if you go onto your profile on Influenster there will be a badge that pops up and is related to the product you got. It will either say the company’s name or the product you are testing. Once you click on that badge there are a bunch of little assignments that Influenster asks you to complete. These are mandatory to do as well in the time frame they give you (VoxBox “campaigns” last from a month to a few weeks). These little assignments will ask you to share photos on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, review on Influenster, the company’s website or Sephora/Ulta etc. Sometimes they will ask you to make a Pinterest Board that is related to the product and other easy activities. Once you complete them you will earn the badge and this will help your chances of getting another VoxBox and a lot of the time it puts you in the drawing for a prize from that company or a MEGA VoxBox which is a very large box with a ton of products inside. Influenster also throws Twitter, and Facebook “parties” for certain VoxBox “campaigns” and if you live tweet or live engage with them on Facebook you will be in the drawing for a MEGA VoxBox or more products from the company.

Now that we’ve covered all the bases, let’s discuss my VoxBox from Sunday Riley. I was lucky enough to get their Ceramic Slip facial cleanser. Obviously this was completely free and I was so excited to test this complimentary/free product from Influenster and Sunday Riley. I applied the cleanser to my face in the shower with a full face of makeup on. Within one use my makeup was completely taken off and my skin felt squeaky clean. My pores seemed to be a little smaller and it didn’t dry my face out whatsoever which is a concern for me when I try facial cleansers because I have dry sensitive skin and harsh cleansers will make my skin very dry. I was very happy with this product and I recommend trying this out!

I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content and make sure to comment down below what your thoughts are on Influenster, VoxBoxes and the Ceramic Slip Cleanser by Sunday Riley!

Miss Spa Brighten Face Mask Review (10/18/2018)

Hey beauties! Recently I tried a face mask from Miss Spa and I wanted to share my experience with you all. I got the brighten face mask because that’s something that I want for my skin. I have dry skin which makes it very dull so anything brightening has my name on it.

The packaging is kind of cute for Miss Spa, I like the bright colors of all their masks. Miss Spa is definitely an affordable brand which is amazing. I think this mask costs around $1.50 without tax. The masks are easy to use and are pretty straight forward in terms of directions.

I applied the face mask to my and waited 15 minutes until I was able to take it off. There was a slight cooling sensation that I had experienced while using this face mask. The mask was like many others I have tried and it definitely had a lot of product on the sheet mask itself. I also had put on some eye masks which have the jelly like substance on one side (this side goes on your skin) and the fabric side on the other.

The face mask definitely brightened up my skin a bit and my skin felt a little bit more moisturized as well. My skin felt more refreshed and lively after using the mask and I also noticed my skin had a little bit more of a glow to it. I enjoyed using this mask and I’m glad I found an affordable brightening mask.

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content. Make sure to comment down below what your thoughts are on this face mask! Do you like brightening face masks? If so, which one is your go to?

New $60 Sephora Skincare (10/14/2018)

Hey beauties! I wanted to share some skincare products that I am adding to my daily/weekly skincare routine. I got these products from Sephora but they aren’t Sephora brand and I spend about $60 total on these couple of items. I am super excited to have something new in my skincare regiment and I can’t wait to see if it works.

I really needed some new toner because I was using toner from Neil’s Yard Remedies and I think my skin started to get used to it. So I needed something new and fresh. I also needed some new face masks that I can use both on my skin as well as on my T-zone and Ryan also wanted a face mask as well for his skin (or maybe I persuaded him that it would be great for his skin lol)! But either way I needed some new products so of course I ran to research what products work best for the skin concerns I have and Ryan has and looked on Sephora as well.

I ended up getting Son & Park Beauty Water which is a toner that helps reduce redness and it isn’t too harsh on dry skin, which are both my main skin concerns. I then got Dr. Jart+ 3 in 1 Clay Mask to Foaming Cleanser Trio. This was perfect because I needed the calming white and moisturizing pink for my skin and Ryan needs the Refreshing Green for his skin because his skin concern is oiliness. So far these products are working amazingly and I am very happy with this purchase. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content and make sure to comment down below and recent skincare products you’ve purchased!

Simple Moisturizing Face Wash Review (10/5/2018)

Hey beauties! Today I am reviewing Simple Skincare’s moisturizing face wash, this face wash is meant to cleanse your skin but still leave it hydrated. It’s a gentle cleanser which is great for sensitive skin yet it works for all skin types. The face wash has Pro-Vitamin B5, Vitamins E and Bisabolbol. This is meant for everyday use.

The packaging of this product wasn’t the worst I’ve ever seen but it also wasn’t the best. It’s just a simple squeezable tube with a latch cap. I personally would much rather a pump but since this is affordable I cannot complain. I do like the white and green color scheme though. The colors of the bottle helps their message of not having additives because it has a natural and organic look to it.

I got this cleanser from Walmart for $5.99, it is 5oz of product which is a decent amount for it only being $5.99. I have dry and sensitive skin so I figured this would be great for the time being. I was washing my face and using this as a in-shower makeup remover as well. For a makeup remover I don’t suggest it, I still found some makeup residue on my skin but I also wear a lot of makeup. I would suggest removing your makeup before you use this product. I did feel that after a second wash (since I needed to get all of the makeup off first), it did clean my skin. My skin didn’t feel dry but it also didn’t feel necessarily hydrated either. I applied facial cream to my face every night to moisturize my skin after using this.

I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content and comment down below what your thoughts are on this product!

LEH Soap Company Haul (8/17/2018)

Hey everyone! I wanted to share a haul about a business that is in a beautiful place in New Jersey called Smithville. I visit Smithville a lot for date nights with Ryan and I never miss a chance to visit this bath shop when we go. I am obsessed with this shop and anytime we go I always leave with something! They have other shops in New Jersey and another in Delaware. I have the website linked below if you’d like to shop for products or see where the nearest LEH Soap Company is to you!

This time I went I of course did my ritual of walking around to smell the soaps, test the body scrubs, and try out the hand creams. It always smells so amazing in there! I somehow wandered to an adorable display piece of a bathtub with a ton of bath fizzies placed inside. I honestly wanted to buy the whole display and bring it home but instead I settled on picking out a bath fizzie for myself. I loved all of the scents but I really wanted the Jasmine because I was completely obsessed with the scent. I also wanted a mint scented soap but I stopped myself. I needed to have some self control since I have 4 other soaps to use before I can allow myself to splurge and get another.

Luckily, when you check out, they usually throw in a generous size sample of soap in your shopping bag! I didn’t realize until I got home that it was the same mint soap I wanted to purchase! I can’t wait to do a review on the products I got! Also, I promise I will do a review for any product I get from here in the future as well. This store has amazing homemade products that are affordable and just as good as Lush or Bath And Body Works products. If you want to checkout any of their items here’s the link to the online store: LEH Soap Company.

I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content! Comment down below a product you are interested in from LEH Soap Company’s website!

Vacation Skincare Routine (8/1/2018)

Hey everyone, I am still on vacation [mode] and I couldn’t more excited to share my vacation skincare routine with you all. Sometimes I feel that when it comes to vacation, skincare is left out and last thought. So, I figured I would share how I make sure to keep my skin looking fine on vacay.

The first thing to discuss is what products I use. I use:

– Frank Body Exfoliator

– Purity by Philosophy Facial Cleanser

– Neal’s Yard Remedies Toner

– Tarte Drink Of H2O Moisturizer

– COOLA Facial Sunscreen

I try to pick the best products and brands that work best with my skin and these are what I have come up with. Luckily for me, these are all just under 3 oz of product. Which means, this will all fit into a quart size bag and can be brought on the carry on. I love how well these products work and that I can bring them on-the-go with me.

So my skincare routine is done in six different steps:

Step 1: Take Off Makeup

I usually do this with a makeup wipe and then cleanse my face with the Purity by Philosophy cleanser. Even if you aren’t wearing makeup make sure you clean off any sunscreen/B.B. Cream etc. you were wearing during the day.

Step 2: Exfoliate

This is definitely an important step while on vacation because if you end up having peeling skin from sunburn or dry/dead skin from being in the sun/ocean/pool etc. you’ll need to exfoliate that dead skin off.

Step 3: Cleanse

I cleanse my skin with the Purity by Philosophy cleanser because it’s gentle enough for my sensitive skin but cleans the skin very well. This is also an important step as well because you will want to remove any leftover impurities in your skin.

Step 4: Tone

Toning just adds another level of clean to the skin. It also help take away uneven skin tone as well which could happen from your skin being irritated from being exposed to the sun, salt water etc.

Step 5: Moisturize

There’s a lot of drying environmental factors while on vacation so I recommend getting a moisturizer that works well for your skin. You don’t want to have sunburn or dried out skin from the salt water and not have a good moisturizer to help! Skipping this step could really damage your skin.

Step 6: Sunscreen

Sunscreen is so so important while on vacation. It can be a step that is easily forgotten– your then left regrettably burnt, and peeling. So it’s imperative to protect yourself from the suns harmful rays. An easy way to never forget is to use it in your skincare routine.

I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content. Comment down below what you think about this vacation skincare routine.

Kocostar PR Package Unboxing And Product Review (7/29/2018)

Kocostar is the best at home beauty treatment brand I’ve come to find. I am super happy I found this brand because they offer at home treatment options from haircare to nails to skincare to face products. When I use this brand it’s almost like I have a spa inside my home.

Previously, I’ve written a post on this brand and explained how innovative the brand was because of their face masks. If you want to checkout the post on Kocostar’s Face Masks here’s the link: Kocostar Slice Sheet Mask Review ! I was lucky enough to get a PR package of their summertime products to test out. I was overjoyed when I got the package in the mail and immediately opened it up and tested a product.

The first product I tested was the Hand Moisture Pack. This is a mask to rejuvenate and moisturize your hands. I’ve never used a hand mask before but I have heard of them! I was super excited to test out my first hand mask, I have to say it is a strange experience (almost as strange as my first sheet mask experience) but it’s definitely something I could get used to. I was always told as a child to put Vaseline on my hands and put cotton gloves on to keep them smooth. I say ditch the Vaseline gloves because these hand masks work wonders. This does an even better job at moisturizing my hands than the Vaseline trick, and they feel more hydrated now more than they ever have. I feel that lotion only went over the surface of the skin but this definitely penetrated the skin. I feel that this mask actually helped with the smoothness and softness of my hands, rather than masking the problem by giving a quick solution like some hand lotions.

The next product I tested out was the Long Hair Pack. This is a hair wrap that deep conditions the hair. The Long Hair Pack is designed for long hair to hydrate and rejuvenate dry and damaged hair. I don’t have long hair but I decided to test it out anyway because it should work on short hair too! I have extremely dry hair, it’s mostly because my hair is naturally curly which means I’m predisposed to having dry hair. I also treat my hair with bleach to make it a lighter blonde than my natural blonde hair, which just adds to the dryness. So, I need to take care of my hair to ensure that it looks good and stays healthy. I felt that the hair wrap might not work as well for me since it is designed for long hair but I personally felt it worked extremely well for me! After using this hair wrap, my hair felt silky smooth and hydrated– almost as if I just got a fresh haircut and blowout. I styled my hair and there was no frizz, even though it was very humid out.

The last product I tested was the Foot Moisture Pack. This is a foot mask, another kind of mask I have never tried before. This mask is meant to moisturize your skin on your feet. Like the Vaseline gloves I was also always told to wear socks with Vaseline to make my feet soft and it does work over a long period of time. After trying this foot mask out I was very impressed with the results just after one use (which was only 20 minutes). I definitely saw that the skin on my feet was moisturized. Although the Vaseline and sock trick does work, I would much rather do the 20 minute foot mask because the results are faster and it takes less time to do them.

I loved everything I got and recommend testing these products out yourself. This company is amazing and I found a lot of their products in Target and you can get what you saw in this post on their website:! I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content. Comment down below what products from Kocostar you want to try!

Weird Beauty Find: Dollar Tree Bath Bombs?! (7/18/2018)

As I was browsing the Dollar Tree recently I was completely surprised at the fact that there were bath bombs at the store! I was half sketched out and half curious as to how good these bath bombs are. So I decided to take the leap and I purchased them to find out if these are legit or if I’ll end up growing a third arm.

Dollar Tree items aren’t always sketchy, I am probably keeping my local Dollar Tree in business with all of the shopping I do there. Regardless, there are still some things that I, personally, get skeptical about trying from any dollar store. Bath bombs being one of them. I’m not sure why dollar store bath bombs sketch me out, but I think it’s because I have a fear of getting a rash or bad skin reaction. Where sometimes, products that are sold in the dollar store have chemicals inside that could easily have a bad reaction with skin or dangerous if eaten etc. For example, some toys at the dollar store are imported from other countries and contain lead which isn’t deemed safe. So considering this had no brand name on it, it didn’t make me feel any more comfortable.

Despite all of my fears of what could happen I just went for it. The bath bomb I tested was the green and yellow butterfly. Once I opened it, I got an amazing whiff of lime or just a citrus scent in general. At least I know that the bath will smell nice!

I threw this bath bomb in the water and it immediately started fizzing, which is a great sign! After a while of fizzing the bath water smelled like citrus, this made me happy because the water didn’t dilute the scent.

It was fizzing like any normal bath bomb you’d get from Target or a drugstore. It took about six minutes for the whole bath bomb to wither away (including the little pieces that broke off)!

The results were great, the water is a bright lime green and the water smelled amazing. Afterwards, I added some bubbles and took a bath. During my bath everything seemed normal and when I got out I didn’t get a rash like I initially thought. My skin didn’t feel like it was moisturized or scented from the bath bomb, so I think the bath bomb was mainly for the water and nothing else.

Overall, this bath bomb worked pretty well for $1! I like that these did the same job as the $8 ones. If you are looking for cheap bath bombs for yourself or as a gift, these could be a more affordable alternative. I’m really happy with my purchase and I recommend trying these bath bombs out.

I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content and comment down below what you think about these bath bombs!
