Freebie Weekend: What Did I Get (7/29/2018)

Hey beauties! This weekend was the weekend of freebies. Sephora was running a free mask promotion all weekend with no purchase necessary. MAC Cosmetics was also running a promotion for National Lipstick Day today, and they gave out free lipsticks until supplies lasted. I am still currently on vacation and luckily my best friend and her cousin were generous enough to stand in line for me both days to get these products since I couldn’t get there.

Sephora was giving away free masks from the 27th until the 29th (today)! They were only giving away the pearl and rose face masks. I was able to get both because, like I said, my best friend and her cousin stood in line for me. They were completely free with no purchase necessary. This was only an in-store promotion but it was really neat that Sephora gave away free masks.

Just like last year, MAC Cosmetics ran a huge giveaway today for National Lipstick Day. They gave away lipsticks for completely free until supplies lasted. My best friend and her cousin were first in line and were able to get me the two lipsticks I wanted most out of all the options.

I got the shades Dare You (right) which is a bright red shade. This lipstick is their Retro Matte finish. I also got the shade Mixed Media which is a dark burgundy shade. This lipstick is their Creamsheen finish.

I love everything I got and can’t wait to come home and try all of the products out! I want to thank my best friend and her cousin for waiting in line for me to get these products. I’m elated about them and I hope you guys were able to snag a freebie this weekend! I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content. Comment down below if you got a freebie this weekend, if so, what did you get?

Weird Beauty Find: Dollar Tree Bath Bombs?! (7/18/2018)

As I was browsing the Dollar Tree recently I was completely surprised at the fact that there were bath bombs at the store! I was half sketched out and half curious as to how good these bath bombs are. So I decided to take the leap and I purchased them to find out if these are legit or if I’ll end up growing a third arm.

Dollar Tree items aren’t always sketchy, I am probably keeping my local Dollar Tree in business with all of the shopping I do there. Regardless, there are still some things that I, personally, get skeptical about trying from any dollar store. Bath bombs being one of them. I’m not sure why dollar store bath bombs sketch me out, but I think it’s because I have a fear of getting a rash or bad skin reaction. Where sometimes, products that are sold in the dollar store have chemicals inside that could easily have a bad reaction with skin or dangerous if eaten etc. For example, some toys at the dollar store are imported from other countries and contain lead which isn’t deemed safe. So considering this had no brand name on it, it didn’t make me feel any more comfortable.

Despite all of my fears of what could happen I just went for it. The bath bomb I tested was the green and yellow butterfly. Once I opened it, I got an amazing whiff of lime or just a citrus scent in general. At least I know that the bath will smell nice!

I threw this bath bomb in the water and it immediately started fizzing, which is a great sign! After a while of fizzing the bath water smelled like citrus, this made me happy because the water didn’t dilute the scent.

It was fizzing like any normal bath bomb you’d get from Target or a drugstore. It took about six minutes for the whole bath bomb to wither away (including the little pieces that broke off)!

The results were great, the water is a bright lime green and the water smelled amazing. Afterwards, I added some bubbles and took a bath. During my bath everything seemed normal and when I got out I didn’t get a rash like I initially thought. My skin didn’t feel like it was moisturized or scented from the bath bomb, so I think the bath bomb was mainly for the water and nothing else.

Overall, this bath bomb worked pretty well for $1! I like that these did the same job as the $8 ones. If you are looking for cheap bath bombs for yourself or as a gift, these could be a more affordable alternative. I’m really happy with my purchase and I recommend trying these bath bombs out.

I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content and comment down below what you think about these bath bombs!

OUAI Leave In Conditioner Review (6/27/2018)

Hey y’all! I went to the beach recently and had a beautiful relaxing day with my cousin, while we were there I tested out OUAI Haircare’s Leave In Conditioner! What better way to put a leave in conditioner to the test than to try it after you went into the ocean and been at the beach all day.

After we went into the ocean, we washed our hair out with regular water at the beach showers and after I applied the leave in conditioner to my hair. I have to say this leave in conditioner smells amazing and my hair felt silky smooth when it was damp.

The leave in conditioner really made my hair silky smooth because after I let it air dry and straightened it for dinner my hair felt and looked very soft. It wasn’t dry from the day at the beach and it wasn’t frizzy either! This leave in conditioner works wonders and I recommend trying it out!

My Free MAC Lipstick And How I Got It (6/15/2018)

Today, I went to the MAC store and picked up my free lipstick. Did I say free? Yes, I did. I got a completely free MAC lipstick and I was so excited to get it. But how did I manage to get a $17 lipstick for nothing? I will explain what you can do to get one for yourself!

When I went to grab my free MAC lipstick I was able to pick from almost every lipstick they had (with the exception of having to only pick the ones with the black and silver base). There were at least 100 to choose from. I didn’t know what to choose at first but I knew I wanted something bright and summery. Especially since I wear a nude lip half the time, I figured why not pick something that would pop against my sun-kissed tan skin.

So, I chose the bright tropical coral shade Tropic Tonic. This shade was perfect after nearly having the woman assisting me swatch almost seven other lipsticks. If I was getting a lipstick for free I wanted to make sure it was something I really liked! I was a little hesitant to pick this one at first because I know if it has an orange/yellow tone to it, it will make your teeth look very yellow. I just went with it though and decided this was the one I’m getting.

I am super happy with the choice because it looks so great against my skin tone and it doesn’t make me look crazy and I can get away with wearing it in public. What’s awesome is that I’m not even tan yet, so I can only imagine how great the lipstick will look after I get tanner!

So I got a free MAC lipstick because I saved up SIX empties. MAC has a recycling program that allows you to bring back SIX empty products (has to be the plastic container, not the cardboard it comes in) and when you recycle those products you will get a free MAC lipstick. It took me quite a while to save up my empties but I eventually was able to get my MAC lipstick. If you have any questions about what can be recycled then you can use the online chat with a customer service employee and they will let you know if it can be recycled or not!

I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content! Also, don’t forget to save your MAC empties from now on if you haven’t been already.

If I Could Only Keep One (6/11/2018)

I’ve seen many bloggers write this post and I wanted to give it a shot myself! This tag is meant for you to choose only one makeup product in each category and get rid of the rest. So what if I could only keep one?

Foundation:

I would probably keep my Maybelline FIT Me liquid foundation.

Bronzer:

The one bronzer I would choose is definitely Chanel’s Tan De Soliel.

Concealer:

Tarte’s Shape Tape concealer is definitely my choice!

Setting Powder:

100% I choose Too Faced Born This Way.

Eyebrow Makeup:

If I couldn’t get both a pencil and eyebrow gel I would have to pick Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil because I need to shape my brows.

Eyeshadow Palette:

Out of every eyeshadow palette I would have to choose Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette because you can make many eye-looks from this palette.

Lip Product:

I would definitely choose Christmas Cookie by Jeffree Star Cosmetics. It’s the nude lip I wear on a daily!

Blush:

I would definitely choose Paaarty by Tarte Cosmetics because their blushes are definitely amazing.

Contouring Products:

Kat Von D’s Powder Contour Kit is the one thing I would choose.

Highlighter:

Becca Cosmetics Opal is the one I wear daily right now so I would probably pick that one.

Eyeliner:

Kat Von D Tattoo liner would have to be my #1 pick.

Mascara:

I would have to choose Estee Lauder mascara.

Fake Lashes:

I have to pick Huda Beauty Lashes in Scarlett

These are the makeup products that I would choose as my “only keep one”. I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content!

Tarte Launching Colorful Palette? What To Expect (6/10/2018)

The drama surrounding Tarte’s mermaid palette and April Fools joke palette is definitely something Tarte had coming to them. With every palette they launch, many Tartelettes (those who purchase and love Tarte products) felt that they were being sold yet another nude palette. Many spoke out against Tarte’s decision to make so many nude palettes and Tarte didn’t say anything about it, until now.

Tarte is coming out with a colorful palette that will fill the demand for a colorful, non-nude palette. I haven’t seen much talk about the post but reading the comments some aren’t completely trusting Tarte after their controversial foundation release where they only released shades for white and light tan skin tones, discriminating those who have darker skin tones and then the April Fools joke. Tarte lost a lot of trust with those who have come to love the brand but others are hopeful that they will finally right their wrongdoings and make a palette that is colorful and great for all skin tones.

So what to expect? I assume that we should expect to see a lot more cool toned colors. So definitely more greens and blues, possibly light pinks and light blues for transition shades and maybe we will see a purple shade and yellow shade. I’m only making assumptions but I definitely think that would make it a much more colorful palette and it’s something a lot of Tartelettes have been asking for!

I hope you enjoyed this post and comment below your thoughts on Tarte making this palette in response to angry consumers.

Monat Hair Product Review (6/10/2018)

I’ve heard a lot about the company Monat and the hair products they sell. Recently, I even went to a wine and wash party at someone’s house to see what the products were all about. I ended up seeing amazing results from these products and gave an independent market partner a call to see if I can get some samples to test these products for myself! I got some samples and tested a shampoo, oil intensive treatment and a hair mask to see how it would work!

First, I used the Oil Intensive Treatment which was something that is done with dry hair before you shampoo. I kept this in for 15 minutes and this product is supposed to be an anti-aging hair product that rejuvenates the hair and nourishes the scalp.

I then used the Renew Shampoo to wash my hair after the 15 minutes of the Oil Intensive Treatment. This shampoo is supposed to help increase hair brilliance, strength and vitality. Once the product is in your hair you let it stand for 2-3 minutes and then rise out.

I then used the Replenish Mask which is made to use right after the Renew Shampoo. I applied this product evenly to damp hair and left it on for about 5-10 minutes. After I rinsed it out and I’m obsessed with how silky my hair felt after rinsing this out.

Usually my hair is super frizzy if ah let it air dry but these products helped with the frizz and made my hair look amazing! I recommend getting these products and if you want to get your own or to sell these amazing product then feel free to contact my personal independent market partner on Instagram @saralove24fit

I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content and comment down below if you would be willing to try this product!

Inkbox Review & Collab (6/6/2018)

Hey beauties! I am doing a collab today with the blogger Alexa The Girl Gamer! We both decided to review a pretty cool product called the Inkbox. If you haven’t heard of Inkbox it is a company that sends you adult temporary tattoos that last for up to 18 days!

I am obsessed that it came in a package that says “Temporary Bad Decisions,” like how cute is that?! This is honestly an amazing company for people like me, who don’t want a tattoo because we are super indecisive. I can still have a fun tattoo but not have the permanence of an actual tattoo!

What is amazing about this company is that they use all natural ingredients, they don’t test on animals, it is water resistant, it lasts long and it develops within 24-48 hours! You can either get a pre-made tattoo (which is what I did) or you can get ink to freehand it yourself! I got this tattoo for $16, but I paid $19 if you include shipping!

The cute little phrases on the packaging were one of my favorite parts about this. So, in your Inkbox package you will receive information about your tattoo on the inside of the packaging, an instructions manual, a pair of plastic gloves, a cloth, the tattoo, and an alcohol wipe.

Step 1: Find where you want to place the tattoo and peel off the white backing and place it on the skin (you only get one shot at this so make sure it’s exactly how and where you want it.

Step 2: Make sure the edges are stuck down and peel off the black top layer. Don’t touch the navy blue colored layer with your fingers.

Step 3: Tear the corner of the cloth and put it in the microwave for 15 seconds and take the alcohol wipe and dab the wipe on the blue square ONLY.

Step 4: Take the hot cloth and apply hard pressure for 30 seconds and firm pressure for 15 minutes. Do not move around during this step.

Step 5: Take off cloth slowly and peel the white sticker off carefully!

Viola, you have a tattoo!

For reference, I am allergic to tape/glue and it usually tears my skin off when I rip it up. So throughout these pictures you might see broken blood vessels or irritated skin like above! This does not mean this happens with everyone, I am just allergic to the tape that was on my skin.

This is the development of the tattoo over time! In 48 hours it looks like a real tattoo! I’m super impressed with this product and definitely recommend purchasing one! You can use my referral code: http://i.refs.cc/CJvubsB6 which will give you $10 off!

Definitely go over to Alexa The Girl Gamers Page and check out her inkbox tattoo post! She got a really cute one! Here’s the link to her blog: Alexa The Girl Gamer Blog!

I hope you enjoyed this post and comment below if you’d be willing to do Inkbox!

Target Clearance Find (5/19/2018)

Target might actually be my second home because I spend so much time there. I had gone to the clearance section aka the best section and found a ton of fun goodies. But I found one thing that was 100% worth purchasing.

I was tossing through disregarded jewelry and handbags when I found a light yellow and white bandana. As you may know yellow is my second favorite color and I love bandanas! But how could I pass up such a cute accessory when it was only $4.18?! I couldn’t, so I purchased it and it’s been one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long while! I definitely recommend searching through Target’s clearance section because they always have amazing deals on cute products. I also recommend using cartwheel on the Target app, this will help you find deals and coupons on products within the store but I have found that sometimes the item is marked wrong and it’s cheaper on the app then they have it marked for (especially clearance items)! This could definitely save you money and you can find cute things for even cheaper than you expected them to be!

What I Got On Mac’s Free Lipstick Day Last Year (4/26/2018)

On July 29th, 2017 Mac Cosmetics gave away free lipsticks in celebration of National Lipstick Day! Sadly, since I was on vacation I wasn’t able to go to Mac and get the lipsticks myself. Thankfully, I have some amazing friends that went for me and each of them picked up a lipstick. I got three lipsticks total!

Even though the shades aren’t ideal for everyone, I am still so happy I got them! I really wanted Gritty Girl and was super happy I got it also Flatter Me Fierce is my favorite shade of blue! I was just as ecstatic to get the shade Yellow You Dare, I love the color yellow and it is always a fun shade to have too. They were all super pigmented which is expected of Mac lipsticks.

It was very cool that Mac gave away free lipsticks on National Lipstick Day and I am wondering if they will do it again? I hope you enjoyed this post and comment below if you got any free lipstick from Mac this day!
