Weird Beauty Finds: Maybelline Tattoo Studio Brow Tint Pen (9/28/2018)

Hey beauties! I was scrolling online and found a really cool eyebrow tint pen that was ridged to give a realistic eyebrow hair look. I assume that it is made to darken or full the eyebrows without them looking completely drawn. I thought it would be fun to try and luckily I found one made by Maybelline.

I have never seen a brow pen or tint like this one before, and my initial thought was that it wouldn’t work well. As for the packaging, it’s pretty sturdy packaging but it is very plain and nothing spectacular. The ridged edge is made of felt and it dispenses the colored ink as you apply it to your brows.

I felt that the brow towards the front (bridge of the nose) looked very realistic. But I felt that as it got closer to the tail of the eyebrow it looked a little less realistic and it was a little patchy. I would maybe suggest filling the tail end of the brow with a regular brow pencil and only do the front with this tattoo brow tint pen.

Shea Moisture Hair Mask Review (9/24/2018)

Hey beauties! I am super excited to review this hair mask for you all today. I rarely ever review hair masks so I figured it’s been about time I do a hair mask review. I do hair masks once a week to once every two weeks depending on how much my hair needs it. I have tried a few but had yet to try out Shea Moisture. I got the Peace Rose Oil Complex Nourish And Silken Treatment. This cost about $1!

I do most of my hair masks in the shower for an easy wash-out. I dampened my hair evenly and followed the instructions for the mask.

I squeezed out a good amount of product, and I feel that with what is left you can get at least two hair masks out of this. The scent of this smells a lot like roses!

I applied the mask evenly to my damp hair and left it in for 5 minutes and then rinsed it out. I could already tell it was working wonders on my hair when it washed out and made my hair very silky.

My overall thoughts on this product is that it is my new holy grail hair mask. It worked perfectly for me and definitely helped reduce frizz and hydrated my hair! I will definitely be buying more of this product to use every week! I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content. Not Your Mother’s Dry Shampoo (Body Building) Review (9/23/2018)

Hey beauties! I had recently gone to the store to look for some dry shampoo because I had run out of my usual dry shampoo, Oribe Gold Lust Dry Shampoo. This dry shampoo retails at $44 which is expensive to keep continuously buying. I run out of dry shampoo like nobody’s business. So, I ventured my way to Target in search of an affordable dry shampoo that works well.

After testing out a few and smelling them I had to choose between Baliste and Not Your Mother’s. I’ve never tried Baliste before but I couldn’t find a scent that I liked. Also, when I found the Not Your Mother’s brand I was very happy with the scent and the price point. This is what ultimately sold me on this product. Plus, it targeted one of my main hair concerns which is body building. I couldn’t wait to go home and test it out.

I tested it out that day because my hair was a tad bit oily so I decided it needed a refresh. I evenly sprayed the dry shampoo onto my roots and I tousled my hair around. It really helped with making my feel refreshed and clean. It also helped with the oiliness in my hair. I felt that this product did provide volume to my hair as well as texture. I am very happy with this product and I recommend it. I purchased this for $4 and change.

Weird Beauty Finds: Beauty Hack Tested (8/15/2018)

Hey everyone! I’m super excited to test a weird beauty hack my friend told me about. My friend had explained that she was scrolling through Instagram and saw a girl taking a receipt and patting it on her face. She then told me that the girl turned the receipt around and there was oil from her face on it. So, the receipt acts as an oil absorbing pad! We all know how expensive these oil absorbing pads are, so this hack could be a life and money saver!

I felt really oily especially since the weather has been super humid lately. So I took a receipt which I’m pretty sure I got from the gas station and patted it on my skin. I mainly focused on the areas I felt oily as well as my T-zone. I didn’t press down hard either. I used it just as I would an oil absorbing sheet.

I thought after hearing this, that it was a joke but after patting my skin that was oily for a minute I got results and my face was no longer oily. I had beautifully matte skin. Warning: if you are wearing makeup some makeup may come off as you are patting your skin. It was really cool that this hack actually worked!

This was the end result of me using the receipt as an oil absorbing sheet. It made my skin feel better and it looks completely matte. I’m not sure how sanitary this act is but it works nonetheless! I still recommend using oil absorbing sheets but if you really need to get that slickness off of your skin and this is your last resort then I say do it!

Freebie Weekend: What Did I Get (7/29/2018)

Hey beauties! This weekend was the weekend of freebies. Sephora was running a free mask promotion all weekend with no purchase necessary. MAC Cosmetics was also running a promotion for National Lipstick Day today, and they gave out free lipsticks until supplies lasted. I am still currently on vacation and luckily my best friend and her cousin were generous enough to stand in line for me both days to get these products since I couldn’t get there.

Sephora was giving away free masks from the 27th until the 29th (today)! They were only giving away the pearl and rose face masks. I was able to get both because, like I said, my best friend and her cousin stood in line for me. They were completely free with no purchase necessary. This was only an in-store promotion but it was really neat that Sephora gave away free masks.

Just like last year, MAC Cosmetics ran a huge giveaway today for National Lipstick Day. They gave away lipsticks for completely free until supplies lasted. My best friend and her cousin were first in line and were able to get me the two lipsticks I wanted most out of all the options.

I got the shades Dare You (right) which is a bright red shade. This lipstick is their Retro Matte finish. I also got the shade Mixed Media which is a dark burgundy shade. This lipstick is their Creamsheen finish.

I love everything I got and can’t wait to come home and try all of the products out! I want to thank my best friend and her cousin for waiting in line for me to get these products. I’m elated about them and I hope you guys were able to snag a freebie this weekend! I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content. Comment down below if you got a freebie this weekend, if so, what did you get?

Weird Beauty Find: Dollar Tree Bath Bombs?! (7/18/2018)

As I was browsing the Dollar Tree recently I was completely surprised at the fact that there were bath bombs at the store! I was half sketched out and half curious as to how good these bath bombs are. So I decided to take the leap and I purchased them to find out if these are legit or if I’ll end up growing a third arm.

Dollar Tree items aren’t always sketchy, I am probably keeping my local Dollar Tree in business with all of the shopping I do there. Regardless, there are still some things that I, personally, get skeptical about trying from any dollar store. Bath bombs being one of them. I’m not sure why dollar store bath bombs sketch me out, but I think it’s because I have a fear of getting a rash or bad skin reaction. Where sometimes, products that are sold in the dollar store have chemicals inside that could easily have a bad reaction with skin or dangerous if eaten etc. For example, some toys at the dollar store are imported from other countries and contain lead which isn’t deemed safe. So considering this had no brand name on it, it didn’t make me feel any more comfortable.

Despite all of my fears of what could happen I just went for it. The bath bomb I tested was the green and yellow butterfly. Once I opened it, I got an amazing whiff of lime or just a citrus scent in general. At least I know that the bath will smell nice!

I threw this bath bomb in the water and it immediately started fizzing, which is a great sign! After a while of fizzing the bath water smelled like citrus, this made me happy because the water didn’t dilute the scent.

It was fizzing like any normal bath bomb you’d get from Target or a drugstore. It took about six minutes for the whole bath bomb to wither away (including the little pieces that broke off)!

The results were great, the water is a bright lime green and the water smelled amazing. Afterwards, I added some bubbles and took a bath. During my bath everything seemed normal and when I got out I didn’t get a rash like I initially thought. My skin didn’t feel like it was moisturized or scented from the bath bomb, so I think the bath bomb was mainly for the water and nothing else.

Overall, this bath bomb worked pretty well for $1! I like that these did the same job as the $8 ones. If you are looking for cheap bath bombs for yourself or as a gift, these could be a more affordable alternative. I’m really happy with my purchase and I recommend trying these bath bombs out.

I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content and comment down below what you think about these bath bombs!

OUAI Leave In Conditioner Review (6/27/2018)

Hey y’all! I went to the beach recently and had a beautiful relaxing day with my cousin, while we were there I tested out OUAI Haircare’s Leave In Conditioner! What better way to put a leave in conditioner to the test than to try it after you went into the ocean and been at the beach all day.

After we went into the ocean, we washed our hair out with regular water at the beach showers and after I applied the leave in conditioner to my hair. I have to say this leave in conditioner smells amazing and my hair felt silky smooth when it was damp.

The leave in conditioner really made my hair silky smooth because after I let it air dry and straightened it for dinner my hair felt and looked very soft. It wasn’t dry from the day at the beach and it wasn’t frizzy either! This leave in conditioner works wonders and I recommend trying it out!

My Free MAC Lipstick And How I Got It (6/15/2018)

Today, I went to the MAC store and picked up my free lipstick. Did I say free? Yes, I did. I got a completely free MAC lipstick and I was so excited to get it. But how did I manage to get a $17 lipstick for nothing? I will explain what you can do to get one for yourself!

When I went to grab my free MAC lipstick I was able to pick from almost every lipstick they had (with the exception of having to only pick the ones with the black and silver base). There were at least 100 to choose from. I didn’t know what to choose at first but I knew I wanted something bright and summery. Especially since I wear a nude lip half the time, I figured why not pick something that would pop against my sun-kissed tan skin.

So, I chose the bright tropical coral shade Tropic Tonic. This shade was perfect after nearly having the woman assisting me swatch almost seven other lipsticks. If I was getting a lipstick for free I wanted to make sure it was something I really liked! I was a little hesitant to pick this one at first because I know if it has an orange/yellow tone to it, it will make your teeth look very yellow. I just went with it though and decided this was the one I’m getting.

I am super happy with the choice because it looks so great against my skin tone and it doesn’t make me look crazy and I can get away with wearing it in public. What’s awesome is that I’m not even tan yet, so I can only imagine how great the lipstick will look after I get tanner!

So I got a free MAC lipstick because I saved up SIX empties. MAC has a recycling program that allows you to bring back SIX empty products (has to be the plastic container, not the cardboard it comes in) and when you recycle those products you will get a free MAC lipstick. It took me quite a while to save up my empties but I eventually was able to get my MAC lipstick. If you have any questions about what can be recycled then you can use the online chat with a customer service employee and they will let you know if it can be recycled or not!

I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content! Also, don’t forget to save your MAC empties from now on if you haven’t been already.

If I Could Only Keep One (6/11/2018)

I’ve seen many bloggers write this post and I wanted to give it a shot myself! This tag is meant for you to choose only one makeup product in each category and get rid of the rest. So what if I could only keep one?

Foundation:

I would probably keep my Maybelline FIT Me liquid foundation.

Bronzer:

The one bronzer I would choose is definitely Chanel’s Tan De Soliel.

Concealer:

Tarte’s Shape Tape concealer is definitely my choice!

Setting Powder:

100% I choose Too Faced Born This Way.

Eyebrow Makeup:

If I couldn’t get both a pencil and eyebrow gel I would have to pick Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz Pencil because I need to shape my brows.

Eyeshadow Palette:

Out of every eyeshadow palette I would have to choose Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette because you can make many eye-looks from this palette.

Lip Product:

I would definitely choose Christmas Cookie by Jeffree Star Cosmetics. It’s the nude lip I wear on a daily!

Blush:

I would definitely choose Paaarty by Tarte Cosmetics because their blushes are definitely amazing.

Contouring Products:

Kat Von D’s Powder Contour Kit is the one thing I would choose.

Highlighter:

Becca Cosmetics Opal is the one I wear daily right now so I would probably pick that one.

Eyeliner:

Kat Von D Tattoo liner would have to be my #1 pick.

Mascara:

I would have to choose Estee Lauder mascara.

Fake Lashes:

I have to pick Huda Beauty Lashes in Scarlett

These are the makeup products that I would choose as my “only keep one”. I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content!

Tarte Launching Colorful Palette? What To Expect (6/10/2018)

The drama surrounding Tarte’s mermaid palette and April Fools joke palette is definitely something Tarte had coming to them. With every palette they launch, many Tartelettes (those who purchase and love Tarte products) felt that they were being sold yet another nude palette. Many spoke out against Tarte’s decision to make so many nude palettes and Tarte didn’t say anything about it, until now.

Tarte is coming out with a colorful palette that will fill the demand for a colorful, non-nude palette. I haven’t seen much talk about the post but reading the comments some aren’t completely trusting Tarte after their controversial foundation release where they only released shades for white and light tan skin tones, discriminating those who have darker skin tones and then the April Fools joke. Tarte lost a lot of trust with those who have come to love the brand but others are hopeful that they will finally right their wrongdoings and make a palette that is colorful and great for all skin tones.

So what to expect? I assume that we should expect to see a lot more cool toned colors. So definitely more greens and blues, possibly light pinks and light blues for transition shades and maybe we will see a purple shade and yellow shade. I’m only making assumptions but I definitely think that would make it a much more colorful palette and it’s something a lot of Tartelettes have been asking for!

I hope you enjoyed this post and comment below your thoughts on Tarte making this palette in response to angry consumers.
