Amika Hair Straightener Review

Hey beauties! I recently got this Amika hair straightener in a FabFitFun box and I had yet to REALLY try it out. I have been so busy I just don’t want to risk using the straightener and then I have to walk around with bad hair all day (lol)! Luckily, I finally set a day where I was going to test this out and see how it went!

At my first impression of this straightener I have to say it seems pretty legit. I am actually surprised that this was a $10 add-on item for my box. Although I really like it and it even has a duster bag, the on and off button as well as the temperature setting button seems a little chintzy which made me super skeptical of the quality of the product itself.

I turned it on and set the temperature to my desired setting and surprisingly enough it heated up 2x faster than my Chi straightener which I use as my daily. I wanted to see how this straightener would fair at both curling hair and straightening it so I straightened a majority of my hair and curled the front two pieces.

Overall, I am satisfied at how well this straightener works aside from the buttons which are functional but feel cheap. It was able to straighten my hair perfectly and if you’re a pro at curling your hair with a straightener you would have no problem maneuvering this hair tool. BUT if you are a beginner using this to curl your hair I wouldn’t recommend it because if you over-do it, the straightener will leave a kink in your hair.

I am pretty happy with it especially as a back-up straightener! I hope you all enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content. Make sure to comment below if you’d buy this straightener!
