Hi beauties! In today’s post I am going to be reviewing a Target Beauty Box, I’ve purchased the Target beauty boxes before so I kind of know a little bit of what to expect. I actually found this beauty box on clearance as I was walking through the isles at Target. The original cost of the box was $9.99 but I was able to get it on clearance for $4. The tag said that it was an online purchase so I’m assuming someone bought it online and returned it to the store which is why it was a clearance item. Either way, I thought this beauty box would be perfect to review.
Since this was a beauty box on clearance I don’t have any way of telling the theme or type of beauty box it is. But at first glance I assumed it was a summer related beauty box because the box itself looked like an ocean/beachy type of art on the box. Of course I was wrong because once I opened the box there was a description card that explained the theme of the box and it also offered an explanation of each product in the box including how to use it and what it does. The theme was gym bag essentials!
The first product I pulled out of this Target Beauty Box was Acure SPF 30 Face Moisturizer. I tested this product out and personally for me it smelled really bad and it was a little too thick for a daily facial moisturizer in my opinion. I like light weight moisturizers so my pores don’t get clogged and my face doesn’t get oily. I feel that this facial moisturizer is not great for the gym if you’re going to be sweating.
The next product I got in this beauty box was Kids Crest strawberry toothpaste. For me I understand the concept of putting toothpaste in a gym bag essentials box but I personally don’t know why they chose strawberry flavored or Kids toothpaste for that matter. I will definitely use it but I was just super confused when I got this in the box.
The third and fourth products that I received from this Target Beauty Box was Simple moisturizing facial wash and Simple Micellar Cleansing Water. These products are definitely my favorite products from this box. I am extremely excited to test these items out and I felt that these made a lot of sense as to why these products would be in a gym bag essentials box.
The next item I got from this beauty box is a NEXXUS Anti-Frizz Sheet. This is a sheet to rub in your hair to stop your hair from frizzing up. I really liked this product and it actually works very well and it made a lot of sense as to why this would be in a gym essentials beauty box. But, my problem with getting this is that you are only given one small tester sheet. I feel that if I were paying the full $9.99 I would want at least three of these sheets. Since I only paid $4 it wasn’t too big of a deal but I definitely would have returned this beauty box too if I saw one sample tester sheet and a kids toothpaste.
The last two items I pulled out from this box were two travel size Head & Shoulders shampoo and conditioner. I actually loved these because I am going on a trip soon and I needed shampoo and conditioner but it would also be a fantastic item to add to my gym bag. The scent also smells fantastic.
Overall, I am halfway happy with this box only because of the small hair care sample and the toothpaste. But everything else really made sense and was in good quantity. I definitely would not have paid the full $9.99 for this box either. I hope you all enjoyed this post and remember to comment down below what your thoughts are on these products.
