Maybelline Icy Glow Eye And Face Palette Review

Maybelline has come out with an eye and face palette and I’ve been dying to try it out! They called it the Icy Glow palette and it has tons of pretty cool tones which is to be expected with the name Icy Glow.

First, let’s discuss packaging. It isn’t the greatest packaging in the world but I’ve seen worse. The palette is a lot bigger than I anticipated which is a pleasant surprise considering most drugstore palettes are compacts. Sadly, there is no mirror in the palette but I can’t expect drugstore makeup to have good quality packaging. I like the color scheme of the palette but I worry that only a few colors in this would work for all skin tones which is an issue.

For the first five pans I would say that these specific shades are pretty silky but have to be built up to see any color pay-off. The silver shade is the one that was the most pigmented. I would say these first five would work better as highlighters.

For the second set of pans I actually really like the formula of these eyeshadows and the highlighter is surprisingly blinding. I would say the eyeshadows can be built up more but for a drugstore brand swatch to show that much pigment without building it up is impressive. The second set of pans blended out pretty decently as well.

The last set of five pans was a complete disaster to say the least. The blue shade was the most pigmented and looked cute but the two dark shades (the brown and black) were super chalky and the teal glitter looked terrible when swatched. The highlighter is very subtle but pretty in this last set of pans. I was disappointed by the three shades because it was super chalky and didn’t blend well either.

I think you should go to your local drugstore and try this out for yourself, but personally it was not a purchase that was worth it for me. I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content and comment down below what you think about this palette!
