My Trip To NYC Yesterday

Yesterday was my first trip to the city since September and I truly missed it. I went to the city yesterday and saw beautiful sights! The weather was gorgeous (83 degrees) and there was also a nice breeze that made the heat bearable.

I first went to the Oculus, which is a large shopping area with stores as well as a very large terminal. It has multiple subways within the Oculus!

The first place I went into was sugarfina store which sold candies and had such a cute and artsy back wall. The flowers were made out of thick paper! There was no way I’d miss this picture opportunity!

This is what the outside of the Oculus looks like! When I first saw it, I said it looked like two large angel wings. I thought it was a big monument, but it was a huge surprise to me that you can walk through it!

I then visited the freedom tower in NYC, this building is gorgeous and my father and cousins actually helped build this building! It’s so cool to think my family was a huge part of building NYC. After visiting the freedom tower I went to the 9/11 memorial.

Being in the 9/11 memorial was extremely upsetting and my family was severely affected by the terrorist attacks on 9/11. I cried but the memorial is important to the history of what happened and educates those who don’t know much about it. There are also two fountains at the footprints of the twin towers. The surrounding marble around the fountains had a beautiful memorial for those who lost their life that day, displaying each and every one of their names.

After I got a bite to eat near the World Trade Center and I took this picture of an NYPD cement barrier before we went in. I thought it had an amazing aesthetic to it.

Of course I had to walk and see the famous Charging Bull which stands in the financial district of New York City. This is actually the first time I have ever actually seen the bull in person!

Once I started walking back to my car I stopped at this gorgeous building. This building is the post office but used to be the US New York Customs House. The Customs House was used by brokers and custom agents to build the wealth of the US!

I saw so many amazing sights, and every time I visit this city I am more and more tempted to move here or at least work here. I hope that is something that is in my future, and I hope you enjoyed this post and remember to subscribe for email notifications for when I post new content!
