Fifty Shades Freed: Movie Review

I know that this isn’t a normal post by me but I wanted to do a movie review. As a huge fan of the Fifty Shades series (books, soundtracks and movies) there was no way I couldn’t write a review on the LAST EVER movie. I want to start off by saying that as a senior in high school I listened to the soundtrack of Fifty Shades Of Grey before seeing the movie or reading the books and I was already hooked. From there I decided I wanted to see the movie with my friends and that’s when it really resonated with me. The storyline and the content of the movie itself fully immersed me into complete fandom. Since then I read all of the books and patiently waited for Fifty Shades Darker to come out. Again, once the movie came out I was immediately obsessed with the amazing music that was in the movie.

Watching Fifty Shades Darker, really made me love the series even more. Even though it seemed impossible to top at the time, the second movie was so much better than the first. This movie set the bar for the final movie. I was so obsessed with Fifty Shades Darker I, no joke, saw it 5-7 times with a friend. It is definitely a non-guilty pleasure.

I have been anticipating this last movie of the series for around a year, and I even pre-ordered the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack, which only 5 songs were released by the time the movie hit the theaters. I was already excited to watch it while listening to my music of choice (The Fifty Shades Freed album). Once I walked into the theater and the movie started (of course I got opening night tickets), my heart was in my throat. It was honestly like I was getting ready with Ana for this big ending.

The movie itself was amazing. There was so much great content that was fit into a 2 hour movie, although I didn’t want it to end. This movie surpassed the bar Fifty Shades Darker had set. By the end of the movie I was in tears. Some people may think that’s crazy, but it’s not for me. These characters have been in my life since I was 17 years old and I am now turning 21 this year. So I have been connected to this story for 4 years already. There was such a bittersweet feeling I had when I watched the happy ending to this series. I was happy and content that it ended the way it did, but I was sad that it was over. I recommend fully diving into this series if you haven’t yet. And if you have, then don’t forget to see this movie, you won’t regret it!
