Stress is a part of life, and sadly we will all experience this part of our lives at one point or another. What it is important, is to know ways to relieve your stress. I made a list of a few things I do to relieve stress!
1. Pamper Yourself
When I’m stressed this is a necessity for me to do. There are stressful points in my life where I feel like the world is falling apart. All of a sudden I have 5 exams, 3 projects, and 10 homework assignments/ papers due the same week. Adding to that if my skin is breaking out or looking porous, my is hair being in a bun daily or looking ratchet, and I haven’t worn real pants in a week, I will literally be more stressed than ever before. So once your stressed, pampering yourself is a perfect way to help make you feel a little better.
2. Hug Someone
For some reason if I am super stressed and I hug my mom, my dad, or my boyfriend my stress goes away just a little bit. It makes me feel comforted and happier.
3. Exercise
This is a good way to clear your head of the stress. It helps you exert your frustrations and stresses. Also, exercising actually is scientifically proven to make you happier (it makes you happy even if you feel like you are hyperventilating and can’t wait to go home, like me when I workout).
4. Meditation
You don’t have to necessarily be spiritually connected to meditation to practice it. Meditation really helps clear your mind and give your head a break.
5. Yoga
Doing yoga is one of the best ways I’ve dealt with stress. I feel so rejuvenated after going to a yoga class. It might be the combination of stretches, exercises and meditation or maybe something else that makes it so relaxing.
6. Tanning
I’m not suggesting that tanning in a tan salon booth is healthy or safe whatsoever, but tanning truly helps me relax whether it be in a booth or under the sun. It gives me a little bit to relax and enjoy the warmth. If this is something you aren’t willing to do (which is totally understandable because extensive time in the sun as well as being in tanning booths can cause cancer) you could get a heated blanket, lay in bed and relax under the warmth.
7. Getting Some Fresh Air
This helps me calm my nerves. Sometimes taking a walk outside or just opening a window to let in the fresh air can do wonders.
8. Lastly, Reading A Book
There’s no better place to escape than diving into a good book.
I hope you enjoyed this post and comment down below what you do to relieve your stress!
