It’s very tempting to get a monthly beauty box from Sephora. Don’t you think? But in reality, is it even worth the $10 and change each month? Comparing this to ipsy and Birchbox, which are also $10 a month, they give you some name brand products but also some indie brand products, where Sephora gives you ALL name brand products that are in Sephora.
So breaking this down, with each box you get 50 beauty insider rewards that are redeemable if you go to the store within the month. And you get a pull-tie makeup bag that can be reused for its intended purpose. This bag is full of 5 deluxe size products that can be purchased from Sephora!
Here is what I got this month of September! I had received a deluxe size sample of the brow gel Gimme Brow by Benefit, a deluxe size of The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb by Belif, a deluxe size sample of a Stila All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in the shade jet black. I had also received a deluxe size sample of CLEAN Reserve perfume, a deluxe size sample of the conditioner hair mask Melt Into Moisture by DevaCurl, and lastly a deluxe size sample of Laura Merciers Velour Lovers Lip Colour in the shade happy.
So all-in-all, to me, this box isn’t worth it. For $10 a month all you get is 5 deluxe size samples. And some of these items I’ve seen under the Beauty Offers tab on the Sephora app and on Sephora.com, this is where you can get sent a deluxe size sample of something just by getting it shipped and using a promo code. I’ve also seen some of these products under the Rewards Bazaar tab on the Sephora app, which is where you can use your Beauty Insider points to get something a little extra for yourself. And to top it all off I have also seen these under the 3 free samples list when checking out online. In my honest and humble opinion I think the box is over priced for what you get, even though the 50 Insider points are a plus. But if you are looking for a practical beauty subscription box, I do not recommend this one.
