Beauty Boxes

Battle of the Beauty Boxes

Not all beauty boxes are created equal! There are three beauty box comparisons I am making this month. It’s ipsy vs. Boxycharm vs. Birchbox! Let’s see who wins…

First is ipsy, this beauty subscription is only $10 a month, you get a lot of deluxe size samples but sometimes you get a full size makeup brush or product, and it always comes with a super cute makeup bag. This August’s ipsy, came in a pretty and summery makeup bag! In the bag I got a full size blender eyeshadow brush, I had also gotten a deluxe size sample of First Aid Beauty’s deep cleanser, and a deluxe size sample of Make Up Forever’s excessive lashes mascara. I also had received a Naked Cosmetics translucent setting powder, and a eyeshadow in shade Willkommen which is from the company the Balm Cosmetics, and specifically from their palette “the Balm Voyage Vol. II”.

Next subscription box is Boxycharm! This box is only $21 a month and usually you get multiple full size products. This August’s Boxycharm had Aloette lip and cheek tint in shade Blooming Berry, it also had 3 full size makeup brushes from Moda Pro (one blender brush, one sculpting brush, and one powder brush). It also had a full size gel eyeliner in shade Ebony No. 2 by bellapierre and PUR Pro Eyelashes, which are gorgeous! And the favorite of mine that I got this month, the Tarte’s Rainforest of the Sea Vol. II eyeshadow palette! A full size palette, which is not the first time Boxycharm has sent me an eyeshadow palette but definitely the first time I was sent an eyeshadow palette that was in Sephora.

And last but not least the Birchbox beauty subscription box that costs only $10 a month. In this August’s box I got an Amika: Perk Up dry shampoo in a travel size (which is my favorite brand of dry shampoo and conditioner, they work flawlessly) it’s in the scent Sea Buckthorn Berry (Obliphica) which smells awesome! I also got a travel size purple toning shampoo from Beauty Protector, since my hair has light blonde balayage. I also got a deluxe sample of Marcelle Hydra-C 24 hour energizing hydrating gel. I received a sample of Costal Scents Blush and Bronzer palette, with two shades 11 (bronzer) as well as 10 (blush), and lastly in the box I got a deluxe sample of Stila’s Stay All Day liquid lipstick in shade Perla! You can see in the picture above I got a micro beauty blender. This was because I used a promotion code that was only available if you are subscribing to your first box, sadly the beauty blender was only available for the August box. But if you are a first time subscriber then you are still in luck! Every month they have a promotion, giving you a free gift with your first box using a specific promo code. For the September box you can get a free Smashbox lipstick by using the code REDHOT when signing up for your first Birchbox!

I hope you enjoyed reading, and let me know which box you thought won this month! For me it was definitely Boxycharm, that Tarte palette was unbelievably unexpected! Also, if you would like me to write a review on any of the products that came in the box, or that I got for my birthday that were shown in the My Birthday Gifts post, comment down below which products!

Subscribe and never miss a post!

    1. I’ve been subscribed to ipsy, birchbox, boxycharm, Sephora Play, Glossybox, fabfitfun, target beauty box, Walmart beauty box, allure beauty box, julep maven, and popsugar. Out of everything my favorite boxes have always been Boxycharm and fabfitfun. I always have felt that I got my money’s worth with those boxes!
