DIY Spa Party

Since my birthday just passed I wanted to do something fun for my birthday party! I wanted this party to be fun to attend as well as fun to host! I’ve always loved pampering myself and getting pampered, so I thought it’d be an amazing idea to have a spa party! There’s a ton of DIY spa related recipes to make (bath bombs, lip scrubs and more).

At my spa party I had cute stations. I made the station frames with a frame I found at the dollar store and scrapbook paper I found at Michaels! The first station was the gift drop off! If your guests are bringing gifts, it’s always nice to have a place to set them. It gives a little appreciation display, and is easier than them trying to find a random place to place them down in the house!

The next station I had was a bath and body station! This station contained homemade bath bombs, homemade bubble bars, bath salts and homemade soap! You can make 6 bath bombs with
• 1/2 cup of baking soda
• 1/4 cup of corn starch
• 1/4 cup of citric acid
• 1/4 cup of epsom salt
• 1 and 1/2 teaspoons water
• 1 teaspoon of essential oils
• 1 and 1/4 teaspoons of oil (olive/coconut)
• And 2-3 drops of soap coloring (optional)
Pack this mixture into two equal halves of bath bomb mold. Push two full molds together and take off one side of the mold. Let the bath bomb dry for 15-20 minutes before removing the other half of the mold. Then let sit overnight on wax paper on a hard stable surface. Be SUPER gentle with these they tend to crumble easily.

We had also made bubble bars, you can make about 10 with
• 1 cup SLSA (this can be found on Amazon and costs about $20 per pound)
• 1 cup baking soda
• 1/3 cup of corn starch
• 1/3 cup of cream of tartar
• 1/3 cup of glycerine (powder)
• 1 tablespoon of oil (argan, or olive)
• 1 tablespoon of water
• 5-6 essential oil drops or until desired scent
• 7-10 drops of soap coloring
(Please use a mask while doing this recipe, it’s very powdery) Work the product until it is the consistency of soft play dough

I got the bath salts from the dollar store and they smell amazing and work very well. I had also made lavender soap. This will make 8-10 bars of soap and was made by
• 2 lb goats milk soap base
• 4 tablespoons of dried lavender buds (I found mine at Michaels for $3)
• 2 tablespoons of honey
• 20 drops of lavender essential oils
Pour this into a silicone mold and chill for hours until hardened.

I had also made a hair station! This is where you can get your hair shampooed, conditioned, a blow out, curled/ straightened by a professional hairstylist I hired. I love a fresh blow out and felt it was necessary for the party.

At the party I really wanted a photo-booth but didn’t want to spend hundreds to rent one! So I made a DIY photo-booth using my YouTube lighting ($50 on Amazon). I made the background with “20” balloons to signify my 20th birthday, and hung streamers vertically. I then cut holes at the ends of the balloons (the extra that hangs off after it’s tied) I blew up myself, and tied them down a string and also hung those vertically. I also got a “Happy Birthday” sign from the dollar store. I then used my Polaroid camera and all of the extra film I had, to have pictures taken of my guests and took multiple so they all got a Polaroid picture instead of a photo-booth strip.

Don’t we all feel relaxed while coloring the adult coloring books? I definitely do! This is a great way to relax for some, so I had to have a coloring station with multiple adult coloring books, and a ton of colored pencils!

The next station I had was a makeup station! It had DIY rose water, lip scrub and lip gloss! As well as a chair and bunch of makeup to be used to do my guests makeup! There is also a bowl of chapsticks I got from Amazon and decorated them with washi tape saying “Stephanie’s 20th Birthday Spa Party, Thank you!”
How to make the DIY Rose water:
• Organic roses
• boiled water
• let sit in boiled water for 20-30min and pour into dispensing container.

DIY Lip Scrub equal parts:
• Brown sugar
• honey
• oil (coconut/olive)

DIY Lip Gloss:
• Koolaid Packet dissolved in water
• Vaseline
Melt Vaseline and mix both together, pour into lip containers and chill until hardened.

Next station I had was a skin station! This had 3 different scents of DIY sugar body scrubs and a DIY body butter!
How to make DIY body scrub:
• 1 cup of sugar
• 1/4 cup of oil (coconut/ olive)
• 8 drops of essential oils
• drops of soap coloring (optional)
Mix with a whisk until all contents are mixed well together.

DIY Body Butter:
• Chill a bowl for 30-40 minutes
• 1/3 cup of coconut oil
• 1/3 cup of shea butter
• 2 tablespoons of almond oil
• 30 drops of essential oil
• 20 drops of soap coloring (optional)
Pour into the cold bowl and whip with a mixer.

Another station I had was a face station, equipped with face masks! I had all four LOreal clay masks for people to take home (the homemade face masks aren’t meant to be kept for long periods of time but can be done at the house). I made three types of face masks for the three skin types.
DIY face mask for oily skin (equal parts):
• honey
• cinnamon
• lemon juice
(All help mattify oils on skin)

DIY face mask for combination skin (equal parts):
• tomato juice
• milk
(Helps brighten the skin)

DIY face mask for dry skin (equal parts):
• argan or olive oil
• honey
(All help moisturize the skin)

Apply face mask on skin and let sit for 25 minutes and rinse off.

I had a little area to keep the thank you goodie bags at the party as well! I got the bags from Amazon (100 Ct.). I put gel nail polish in the bag from KISS which I got from the dollar store, four nail files each which I got a package of 70 from Amazon, one sleeping mask each which I got from the dollar store, a “Thank you” chapstick, ribbon elastic hair ties, and a handwritten thank you card (I also got my thank you cards from the dollar store). For girls that were in my sorority that came, they got a mini canvas (2″ by 2″ from Michaels) that said ZTA on it! I also included seven raffle tickets each, that enter them to win prizes that were at each of the seven stations!

I also had a health and fitness station at my party! I asked an Herbalife health and fitness coach to come and make amazing protein shakes and talk to us about how to be healthy and exercise. As well as how much weight you can lose with Herbalife (which I’ve experienced first hand)! Health and fitness is a huge part of spa because being healthier and fit makes your body feel better! And spa related things are all about what makes you feel better! Her Instagram name is @saralove24fit if you are also interested in having this at your party! I also had detox water at this station. The recipe is:
• 2 gallons of water in a dispenser
• 5 lemons
• 3 limes
• mint leaves
• cucumber
Another great idea, if you want more out of your health and fitness station, you can even have backyard yoga/meditation!

I also had a station for free samples! With buying so much at Sephora, Ulta and even being subscribed to multiple beauty boxes, I always get a ton of samples! I have so many I always give them away! Many people get so excited when I bring the samples over for the taking! I thought this would be awesome to incorporate into a spa party. Who doesn’t love free luxury brand skin samples?!

And the last pictured station I have is the nail station. This station is a do it yourself nail station! I have a foot spa set up with foot soak and a bunch of nail polishes and a personal gel nail machine! So you can get a foot spa and either get a regular manicure or a gel manicure! I got the gel nail machine for $40 at Target and it works wonders! It turns any regular nail polish into a gel nail polish by following the steps!

I sadly don’t have a picture of a very beautiful station that I loved. It was the jewelry station, and at this station I had an independent seller from touchstone by Swarovski jewelry come and sell jewelry at my party! Everything was so beautiful and I have a link to her website if you would like to browse or purchase anything:
Touchstone Jewelry by Swarovski
Everything is super affordable and cute! I even purchased jewelry at my own party! If you would like to purchase anything type in the Host Name: First- Stephanie Last- Russell and click the party, now you can purchase it through my hosted party! With every purchase it would go towards a gift for my birthday and you’ll be getting a trendy piece of jewelry as well!

I hope you enjoyed reading and comment down below your favorite way to pamper yourself as well as your favorite jewelry piece from Touchstone jewelry (link is above)! Mine is getting my hair done and the Hope necklace!
